I heart Lara... and her bars

Last night I went to this crazy event called Food Fete -- it happens every year around the same time as the Fancy Food Show in NYC. The show itself is insane, the whole Javitz Center is wall-to-wall food vendors, which sounds great but is really sensory overload. Food Fete is much smaller and more manageable -- though I have to say, there was no AC and it was about 100 degrees, which made us feel much less like fete-ing.
So I'm strolling around with my co-worker Jayna and my buddy Liz (who is now food editor at my "alma mater," Quick & Simple), and Liz spots the Larabar booth. She knows I'm obsessed with these tasty, truly all natural bars, so she brings me over. Now I would be thrilled enough with a tableful of Larabar samples -- little did I know that manning the table was Lara herself!
Poor Lara -- I was no less than a groupie, telling her how much I love her bars, and her story, and I think she was a little overwhelmed by sweaty little me, gushing about her greatness. But she was so gracious, and made me up a fabulous bag of treats to take away, including some yummy new flavors like Key Lime Pie and Chocolate Coffee. Yum!
